Educational Qualification

I acquired my first degree (DVM) in 2011 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in University of Ibadan. Subsequently, I was awarded a scholarship from the University and acquired a Masters degree (MVPH ) in Veterinary Public Health in 2014.

Profession and Place of Work:

I work at Vanguard Pharmacy Ltd, a one stop shop for Pharmacy, Veterinary , Supermarket and Books located at Ventura Mall and along Monatan-Iwo Road, Ibadan.

I am currently the Head of the Veterinary Business and the Consultant Veterinarian for the Pharmaceutical Business

Impact of what you do on animal and human health

Basically, as the Consultant Veterinarian at the Pharmacy, I offer advice on drug use before purchase to our clients. In this way, I guide our clients and advocate for the right use of the right drugs and vaccines for the different disease conditions of all animals at every point in time.

Also, I educate and enlighten farmers and clients on the importance and observation of withdrawal periods of medications prior to slaughter or milk, meat and egg consumption. This eventually helps in improving livestock health and promoting public health in animals and humans especially. This is especially important in reducing the human consumption of food products with antibiotic residues.

To better reach out to the general public, we produce periodic bulletins to enable our clients read and be educated on the importance of some disease conditions that pose public health threats.

Prospective future work

I look forward to undertaking applied research in major bacterial zoonotic diseases that challenge poultry farmers and pose great public health threats to human beings and our environment. Also, I will continue to work on engaging livestock farmers in seminars and forums where such and more can be addressed.
