Afrimash is an Internet platform that was born out of the need for farmers to purchase the things they need to run their businesses/farms without having to travel.
The Afrimash Internet platform enables farmers (and their consultants) to find various good quality products they need, order online, and receive their delivery anywhere they are.
To achieve this, Afrimash partners with manufacturers, importers, and wholesale distributors of agricultural products; and then display their products on Afrimash Internet platform for Internet searchers to find and make their order. Once payment is made, Afrimash (or the vendor) ships the ordered product to the buyer via various transport companies.
Interns Came Onboard
In early March, Afrimash brought onboard two interns to support our customer service and logistics. Being a startup, we love having young minds around. Most importantly, we believe having them work in an online marketplace for agriculture will be an infusion of new perspectives to agriculture in Nigeria.
Our interns were mostly involved in creating product pages and relevant contents for our customers.
Ronke Adeyemo who is a student of FUNAAB (Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta) joined as an intern as well as Elohor Onoriode who recently finished from UI (University of Ibadan) and was waiting for NYSC. Ronke had only two months to spare, and we missed her dearly when she left in April 2017. Elohor waited for another one month, making a total of 3 months. She left inMay 2017.
It was a great time!
After Internship
Ronke returned to school for her final year while Elohor left for NYSC. We so much enjoyed their company that we wished they could stay longer.
Ronke wrote about her experience at Afrimash:
Working as an intern at Afrimash was a great privilege for me to learn more about poultry and fish farming aspect of agriculture. At Afrimash, we work as a team; every opinion and suggestion towards the progress and development of the company counts.
My relationship with my boss was cordial. Dr. Ayoade Oyedotun is friendly, because of the love he has for his job, he never takes his work with levity. He is an example of a good leader who teaches his co-workers how to be hard working and honest.
My first day at the office was stressful but very educating. I was given a topic to write “best housing design for poultry” which wasn’t much of a problem because I’m an agricultural student. Being in the office with other workers gave me an opportunity to build myself morally and intellectually. Throughout my stay at Afrimash I majored in drafting out essays on major agricultural prospects.
We Welcome Interns
Feel free to send us an application if you will like to intern at Afrimash sometime soon.
